Bursa Technical University, Faculty of Forestry has three departments:
-Forest Engineering,
-Forest Industry Engineering and
- Landscape Architecture
The Department of Forest Engineering prepares students to work for the protection of forests and wildlife as well as its management. In Bursa, the percentage of forest cover is very high and this is a great opportunity for students as it is an open lab. for them.
Bursa has got a famous National Park in Turkey called Uludağ Mountains with twenty seven thousand hectars and also a floodplain forest with about four thousand hectars.
With the town of İnegöl, located 20 minutes away from Bursa and its widely developed furniture production, students from the Department of Forest Industry Engineering can benefit from many internship opportunities nearby.
Bursa was the first capital of the Ottoman Empire which has been preserved until today and in Turkey Bursa is also known as green Bursa. Therefore, students from the Department of Landscape Architecture will find plenty of inspiration for their designs.
Bachelor students must complete two internship periods at the end of 2nd and 3rd year according to a program prepared by the department, and each internship period lasts for 20 days.
Another compulsory internship, which is only available at Bursa Technical University is called Sectoral Education Program (SEP). With this program, 4th year students spend one complete semester doing an internship in companies in Bursa or other cities to experience working in a professional environment.
They have the opportunity to work in companies such as the General Directorate of Forestry, Municipalities or furniture factories for example.
With the Erasmus plus program, students from the forestry faculty can spend one term studying in another university in Europe or spend a 2 months internship in Europe too.
Our faculty also offers education at master (MSc) and PhD level either in Turkish or in English
The department of forest engineering offers masters and PhDs either in Turkish or in English, while the department of forest industry engineering offers masters and PhDs in Turkish. And the department of landscape architecture only offers masters in Turkish. In addition we offer MSc in Urban Forestry, Biocomposite Engineering, Forest Products.
