What is Forest Engineering?

Department of Forest Engineering aims to train forest engineers who can perform the duties of planning, controlling and implementing the actions that are carried out to meet the demands of present and future industry over societies for forest products, fulfilling the social services, providing all the conditions to actualize them. 

The main goals of the departmant are to provide graduates with necessary qualifications about sustainable management, operation, tending, and protection of forest resources and reforestation of forest ecosystems; to  teach theoretical and practical necessary information to meet public demands on forest products and services; and to provide them with ability to find analytical solutions to occupational problems and to have necessary occupational knowledge and ethical responsibilities.

The forest engineers can be employed intensely at public sectors and they can work a General Directorate of Forestry, General Directorate of Forestation and Erosion Control, Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, General Directorate of Forest Village Relationships, State Hydraulic Works (DSI). Besides, they can get employment in landscaping parts of General Directorate for Highways and at Parks Departments of municipalities. Within the scope of 5531 numbered Occupation Law, the forest engineers have employment opportunities in various fields in the private sector.
