Our Missions

1. To give a quality education to undergraduate and graduate level, to train well-equipped engineers and academics.
2. To train engineers being sensitive to their environment, protect national resources, develop and at the same time offering the best of our natural resources in a sustainable way  to the benefit of society.
3. To raise the awareness of community about the importance of natural resources, the forests and their benefits.
4. To place emphasis, especially, on the functions of forests and non-wood forest products and to contribute and counseling to public and private sector about making it gained into economy in accordance with the era.
5. To offer the forests and the using of forest products and good examples about the perception of the environment around the world to the society and the public share, and to enhance the awareness and good practices.

Our Targets

1. In Forest Industry Engineering, to begin with lumber and logs, to process the whole organic lignocellulose materials with the newest  and modern techniques, to process into  value-added products, composite materials, furniture manufacturing and design, to research and do training activities on issues such as non-timber forest products.
2. The goal of the department is to provide harmony between industrial engineering profession with the more contemporary and information society in the coming years, and to get a good place for BTÜ Forest Industry Engineering in the other departments.
3. Besides education, one of the main objectives of the Forest Industry Engineering  is to create solutions to the problems of forestry and forest product industries in Turkey, especially, of the Marmara, Aegean and Thrace regions,  and to carry out research and application works  by using the  advanced technologies to develop our forestry and forest product industries.
4. It is aimed to reach the level of education and research  in the developed countries  that would fit the requirements of our country  in the same field.
